Environment Canterbury – knowledge management strategy

Seradigm was engaged to coordinate the development of a strategy that would meet organisational needs regarding knowledge management, and gain acceptance of this throughout the organisation. The process was initiated with a Knowledge Survey, which identified what knowledge made the greatest difference in Environment Canterbury. On acceptance of this survey a knowledge management steering team was formed and the strategy phase undertaken. This involved coordination of many differing points of view, internal and external complexities, to arrive at a viable set of goals and guiding principles.

At the presentation of the strategy to the top 40 directors and managers at Environment Canterbury, Laurie McCallum, a senior manager said, “At last some consultants have come in and actually understood the subtleties of our organisation”.

You can only talk rubbish if you're aware of knowledge.
